Network Technician
Candidate will resolve day-to-day issues pertaining to the network environment. Responsible for implementation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of wired/wireless LAN and WAN networks. Candidate must have strong oral and written communication and listening skills, the ability to work well within a team and with clients. Take responsibility for solving issues and use skills to help others do the same. The ability to work under pressure to meet target dates and maintain flexibility when there are schedule or priority changes and last minute requests. Plan, organize, and prioritize. Set ambitious, yet specific and attainable goals and maximize the use of the available technology, welcome new technology, and stays abreast of the latest technologies.

Responsibilities include:
• Lead tech for deploying, configuring and monitoring network equipment, network usage and systems availability
• Support and troubleshooting for IP technologies, including but not limited to: network connectivity, IP addressing (CIDR and VLSM), Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, HSRP, VRRP, static and floating routes), VPNs, Load Balancing, and QOS
• Support and troubleshooting for Layer 2 LAN technologies including but not limited to Ethernet (Switched, FastE and GigE), Spanning-Tree, VLANs, VTP, and trunking (802.1q and ISL)
• Troubleshooting support for Ethernet Switches, Routers, Load-Balancers, VPN concentrators
• Prior experience should include working in a professional environment using computers, network and telecom equipment to perform daily job functions
• Experience Wireless LAN Administrator is a definite plus.
• Experience with RouterOS by Mikrotik is a definite plus.
• Available for 24-hour on-call responsibilities
• Must be capable of running, terminating and testing of Ethernet, coax. Fiber is a plus.
• Installation of cabling systems: patch panels, cable management components, patch panels, etc.
• Will supervise installation subcontractors on larger jobs.

Candidate must have 3-5 years direct networking experience as a network tech.

Certifications Preferred:
TIA Network+ or similar
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or similar
Cisco Certified Network Professional Wireless (CCNP wireless) or similar

Position is part time evolving to full time as work load demands.
